Backmasking in Music

Stairway to Heaven- Led Zepplin
I believe that the backmasking in Stairway To Heaven is real. I'm not sure if it was purposefully put there just because the paragraph makes so much sence. Its not like it's just a bynch of random sentences put together, its a full paragraph.

Kiss Kiss Kiss- Yoko Ono
I think the "i shot John Lennon" is WAY too looked into. They're stretching on that one.

Empty Spaces- Pink Floyd
I think they knew that people would overanalyze songs and were searching for songs with backmasking, so they decided to humor them. It was put there without a doubt.

I'm So Tired- The Beatles
There is theories about The Beatles backmasking on purpose but making it seem like an accident..i'm not too sure. I think it could be a backmasking but wether its on purpose or on accident, i Can't tell.

My Name Is...- Eminem
I think that the song is backmasking by accident, although the fact that it says both Slim and Eminem could be questional, i think i was accidental and coincidental.

Nature Trail To Hell- Wierd Al
Odviously, this was purposeful backmasking. It says they most clear, and random thing that is odviously put there for laughs. Wierd Al has done this before in other songs and odviously he did it again in this song.

Pokemon Rap
YES! I knew this song was SATANIC. No. People are looking too hard. There isn's backmasking. Its a childs cartoon theme song. No. Blasphomy.

Fire On High- ELO
Odviously purposeful. A lot of times when there is "indistiguishable gibberish", it means that might be backmasking. It's very clear.

Baby One More Time- Brittany Spears
One of the most hilarioous backmasking i've heard. I think it's an accident because why would brittany just come out and admit that she's a total slut. I love it. It really makes sence.

Revolution 9- John Lennon
I believe the backmasking in this song was put there to entertain John Lennon because he already is so famous, why not make him more.

Song Analysis 2:

Hey, girl, you know you drive me crazy
one look puts the rhythm in my hand.
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down.

Cover up with makeup in the mirror
tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again
You cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever, you will surely drown
I see what's going down.

I see the way you go and say you're right again,
say you're right again
Heed my lecture.

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has...

One day she will tell you that she has had enough
It's coming round again.
[x2]

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has...

Face down in the dirt, she said,
"This doesn't hurt", she said,
"I finally had enough."
[x2]

The Red Jumpsuit Aparatus was started as a local band in Middleburg, Florida in 2001. The band was started by Ronnie Winter and Duke Kitchens when they were playing Blink- 182 cover in Music Theory class. They got signed by Virgin Records in 2006 where they produced the album Dont Fake It which includes the song Face Down. The song includes many poetic devices including a narative, irony, and more.
In the song, Face Down, The narriative is the singer is talking to a girl about her boy friend abusing her and why she's still with him. He's also trying to figure out why the boyfriend is doing it to her and not stopping. She keeps telling him its the last time it will happens, but its not. The irony is in the lines "Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?" because it is ironic that pushing a girl around would make the person feel better to hurt someone else that they supposedly are supposed to care about. As well as irony and narriative, the song also includes local color, imagery, a hyperbole, personification, and an allegory. The entire song includes local color because the song is about domestic violence between couples which is very common. The imagery is in the lines, "Face down in the dirt, she said, 'this doesn't hurt'" because it makes you picture a girl in the dirt. The hyperbole is in the lines "Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end as your lies crumble down" because its saying that the world is going to end because of his lies which is an exageration. Also in that line is personification because lies can't crumble. The song includes an allegory because it shows the deep fiht to let go of the person who is hurting you the most, but the person simply can't for many reasons.
The song Face Down is an important song to The Red Jumpsuit Aparatus because it was one of the reasons they got popular. It also is relatable to many people who may be in the same situation.

Billboard Top 50

I think the Billboard top 50 albums of 2008 shows the diversity of america. The artists and albums vary from Lil Wayne to Bob Dylan. From Vamoire weekend to Metalica. I think it's impressive at the diversity. It shows that not everyone likes the same artists and types of bands. Some bands that are on the list like, The Knux, Girl Talk, and Ra Ra Riot, i've never heard of and i'm sure many americans haven't as well.

Song Analysis:
Ray LaMontagne is from a Nashua, New Hampshire. He is most well known for his song "Trouble" which came off of his album "Trouble" that came out in 2004. He plays a Martin D-35 acoustic guitar. His unique voice has been compared to Van Morrison. On the same album as "Trouble", there is a song called, "All the Wild Horses". The song is short, only about 14 lines long, but the message within the song is loudly shouted in his powerful lyrics.
In the song “All The Wild Horses”, there is multiple poetic devices. Among those are personification, imagery, and a powerful internal message. The line, "All the wild horses. tell her with tears in their eyes" is personification because horses can't literally cry. The line "And as for the clouds, just let them roll." is an example of imagery because it paints a picture of big clouds rolling across the sky. As for the internal image, the lines, "May no mans touch ever tame you. May no mans reigns ever chain you. And may no mans weight defrayed your soul." are where you'd find it. The lines basically mean that may no man ever hinder your spirit, let nobody change you into something that you're not.

Ray LaMontagne’s husky voice and unique, soulful lyrics have brought on a new era of acoustic music that everyone can relate to. He never lets his past get away from him and it’s evident in his lyrics what he’s gone through. His song-writing is advanced and the way he presents them makes it seem like you have gotten to know him a little bit more with every song.
